Week 15

We are now starting week 15 of training.  This morning we started running for 20 minute segments and it really crossed a new barrier for me.  I really felt like we are training for a marathon today, and I haven't really felt that way until now.  The whole workout takes us 50 minutes, and with stretching is about an hour.

Jake was especially impressive.  We were both tired after the first 20 minutes, and I figured that I would need to encourage him a lot after the second set.  Instead, he was pushing me.  He didn't slow down at all... I'm real proud of him. :)  Just 8 more weeks and then we're finally into the actual training program!

We both also had big weight loss this week.  I am officially back to my wedding weight!  That's pretty exciting.  I wasn't expecting that to happen until next week.

Anyway, I'm working really hard this week on giving God the control.  I really enjoy being able to control the fact that I am losing weight and the running is going well.  However, I was reminded in yesterday's sermon that it is temporary pleasure (yes, control is very pleasure-filled for me) and that God is in control- not me.  Even though it feels good to be able to control something, ultimately it is not mine to control.  To God be the glory...
