Bingqilin

So, Jake blogged about our friends who are missionaries in China right now.  They just had a baby, and our church took an offering for them this morning to give to them.  As we were talking about what it would be like to exchange the funds into Chinese money, Jake suggested that they could be transferring $200 into an account and then exchanging it.

My response: "Man, you could buy a LOT of bingqilin with that!"

Explanation: Bingqilin is ice cream (at least a not very good transliteration of it).  When I was in China, we often went and got some from a local shop, and it was super cheap.  Anyway, they could buy a TON of ice cream for that.  Like, they could probably have ice cream every day for the next couple of years and not run dry of money.

I think I miss ice cream.

And peanut butter.

And eating cheese regularly.

And yogurt.

Boo for allergies.  Maybe I should move to China because I'm pretty sure that their bingqilin is not milk based...
